Today I thought that if I didn’t do something creative I might go nuts.
Here is the tiniest creative project if you feel for doing something easy. I mean, it takes only 5 minutes!
Go to Kmart and get a clear plastic phone cover. Then cut out some fabulous paper or fabric to pop inside it. To decorate it. You could use gift wrap, japanese paper or tissue, newspaper, a map, a postcard, fabric, a photo or pressed flowers. How about doing a small painting to pop inside? Or ask your child to do that.
I used some sheet music from an old music book I picked up in a Melbourne op shop some years back.
Here at Into the Clearing you can find my healthy recipes and my articles about living simpler and slower. Life doesn't have to be a chaotic race. I live with my family in Australia but we are in the process of moving back to Sweden. We have also lived in Asia, which was fantastic. Hard to get over.
While raising our four children I focussed on making home cozy but also very functional so it would be calm. A lot of moves across suburbs, states and countries forces you to be even more serious about these things. You need to travel light but you need your kids to feel at home.
I hope that when you visit Into The Clearing you find ideas to make a home that is a haven. A calendar that isn't manic. And food that is going to nourish your body and gut.
